Wednesday, April 16 – UAE: On Wednesday morning entire UAE residents suffocated in low visibility due to rough dusty weather coupled with fog across the country.
NCM (National Centre of Meteorology) issued multiple weather alerts as low as yellow and as high as red for the public. A red alert warning due to formation of dense fog was active until 9:30 am which brought horizontal visibility on the roads and open areas to a near zero.
NCM also placed an orange alert until 10:00 am because of new northwesterly winds. Blowing dust and sand triggered by these winds posed further risk in already thinly veiled and likely dangerous travel conditions, exacerbating the dusty exposed regions.
Authorities are asking drivers to exercise extreme caution switch on fog lights and remain aware of changing weather conditions. Also it is recommended that the public limit their exposure outdoors under such weather conditions, especially those suffering from respiratory illness.
