Dubai is ready for the future of urban dynamics. On 22 June, the Rhods and Transport Authority (RTA) in partnership with EMAR Properties announced a major expansion of the Burj Khalifa -Dubey Mall metro station – which is one of the city’s heaviest smuggled transit points.
A step to meet the growing demand
From the New Year’s eve fireworks to global festivals and large -scale shopping season, the crowd in the downtown Dubai region increases the congestion of the year. The metro station, serves thousands of people daily, often reaches extreme capacity during major events. The purpose of new expansion is to increase passenger flow, reduce the crowd and ensure a smooth transit experience for all.
“This expansion is part of our commitment to create a spontaneous, world -class transport system for residents and visitors of Dubai,” said an RTA spokesman.
What passengers can expect
The upcoming changes will include:
Comprehensive platform and more entry/exit points
Pedestrian link better for nearby sites
The ability to handle the crowd of major event increased
Advanced security and access facilities
Creation of a smart city
This upgrade is an important part of Dubai’s broad vision to become a global leader in smart mobility and sustainable urban planning. Since the city prepares millions of tourists and residents in the coming years, investment in public transit is more important than ever.
